Thanks for the reply. As I mentioned in a previous response to
another contributer, I may not have bee clear enough. First I think
here are 2 servers involved and the clients are irrelevant. The error
is occuring between the sender's server and my (recipient's) server.
It is certainly possible there is a lookup delay on the sender's
server but I need a better definition of what the error is and some
way to determine which server is generating the error.
I can add that the error message the sender gets comes from the
MAILER-DAMON on the sender's side. Can I draw any conclusions from
that? I looked at my postfix log at the time the message was bounced
and cannot find any attempt from that server to contact mine. I have
to assume that it was not my server that produced that error but
rather the sender's server and it was unable to find my server's
address for some reason.
