Yes, those commands demonstrate how to test or query a cidr
table. It doesn't say you need to compile the cidr table. It's not
practical for the documentation to list everything you should NOT do.
But as already pointed out, the only effect of compiling a cidr table
with postmap is to create a .db file that won't be used, or an error
message from postmap if you attempt to specify cidr: as the output map type.
Postfix will happily ignore any extra .db files left over from
unneeded postmap commands - there will be no effect on operation.
