There is simply not enough detail here to solve the issue. When you say "it now refuses all email", is "it" referring to amavisd-new or Postfix or what? You need to show amavis and Postfix log entries where a particular message was "refused". We're not even sure what "refused" means. Does it mean rejected or bounced or discarded or what? A header of at least one of these message may also prove useful. Best guess is, the messages have been learned as spam and are dealt with according to your amavisd-new settings. If so, this is not a Posfix issue, you should seek advise on the amavis users list.
