Hi,
running Postfix 2.4.6.
I've waded through a large number of messages in the archives, but have
not found yet the right solution. Can someone point me in the right
direction. What I want to achieve is the following:
Postfix is located between Internet and an application server. Let's say
the application server has domain 'application.domain.com'. Within
'application.domain.com' there are two groups of addresses:
1. some of the addresses must be mapped to another address and then
delivered. E.g. postmaster
application.domain.com must (on the
envelope level) be rewrittten to root
some.other.system and
delivered there.
2. some of the addresses must not be mapped, they only have to be
checked and if existing, the mail must be relayed to the
application, without altering the envelope To address. So, just relay.
Ad 1. would suggest the use of virtual_alias_domains and virtual_alias_maps.
Ad 2. would suggest the use of relay_domains and relay_recipient_maps
Can somebody provide me with some pointers and steps on how to achieve
what I want: resolving some addresses, relaying others, within the same
domain?
/rolf
