Once I've installed amavis-new on a Debian 3.0,
under /usr/share/doc/amavis-new there is a good README that explain how
Debian articulate the conf file, and where to remove the comment to
activate spamassasin.

Maybe is the same with Ubuntu 7.10, you have only to remove a char.
