Been there, Done that. Simon's RPM's are for RHL6.2. I thought they
might be close enough, but as I said above, they were signed by rpm-4.x
and my rpm-3.0.4 won't open them. Somewhere I found a tarball for
postfix-1.1.13, but before I begin compiling on this 486, if I don't
have the config files right I'm still stuck here. Seems I need my
config files verified first--either this version begins working, or
1.1.13 will then work (I hope).

As my list of failures showed, I did try letting smtp out of jail but
