$ man 5 postconf
...
mydomain (default: see postconf -d output)
The internet domain name of this mail system. The default is to use
$myhostname minus the first component. $mydomain is used as a default
value for many other configuration parameters.
The documentation says "domain" (singular). It does not say "domains"
(plural).
> My mail host has 5 domain names. Best to specify them in $mydestination?
Only if these domains share the same UNIX system accounts. See
http://www.postfix.org/VIRTUAL_README.html#local.
Otherwise, see http://www.postfix.org/VIRTUAL_README.html#virtual_alias
and http://www.postfix.org/VIRTUAL_README.html#virtual_mailbox.
