Either in fact some modules are NOT installed or they're disabled
them via one of:

        smtp_sasl_security_options = noplaintext, noanonymous
        smtp_sasl_tls_security_options = $smtp_sasl_security_options
        smtp_sasl_tls_verified_security_options = $smtp_sasl_tls_security_options

or

        smtp_sasl_mechanism_filter =

The default is not use plaintext passwords with unverified peers.
