    SANS First Wednesday Webcast presents:

Internet In Crisis - Lessons Learned From Internet Attacks.
    Wednesday, June 5th, 1pm EDT (1700 UTC)

Security professionals the world over have had it drilled into them that
the Internet is a hostile environment, connected systems residing under
a constant threat of attack. But to what extent are these systems
subject to attack? And what kinds of attacks? And perpetrated by whom?

Knowing of your enemy is one thing, but knowing what they're doing and
having measures you can take to thwart them is truly valuable knowledge.

This Wednesday at 1:00 pm EDT (1700 UTC), via a free web broadcast, you
can hear a briefing by Tom Liston the author of the Open Source tool
LaBrea. Tom will share his expertise of the use of "active defense"
techniques to mitigate these attacks, and how Network Administrators
can use the "home field advantage" to protect their systems.

In addition Wednesday's webcast will feature:

    - - Michael Mychalczuk, Sr. Product Manager for NetIQ, speaking to a seven
step process to improving an organization's security with real-world
examples of how implementing the 7 steps helps. NetIQ Corporation is
    this month's webcast co-sponsor - http://www.netiq.com

    - - A special instructional session by SANS Faculty member Mike Poor on
"Wireless Insecurity" which will give a quick overview of risks and risk
    mitigation.

You can listen live and ask questions, or, once you have an access code,
sign on later to listen to the webcast at your leisure.
