From: The SANS Institute (Webcastssans.org)
Date: Sat May 31 2003 - 22:29:09 CDT

SANS is pleased to bring you the latest in our complimentary series of
First Wednesday Webcasts. Join us on Wednesday, June 4 at 1pm EDT (1700
UTC) as SANS presents:

"The Coming Super Worm"
Featuring Edward Skoudis

Register at http://www.sans.org/webcasts/060403.php

Worms have proven to be among the most damaging types of computer attack
tools. From the Morris worm through Nimda to the latest variations of
SQL Slammer, worms have been an increasing challenge to information
security professionals in defending their networks. However, we've only
seen the tip of this iceberg. Attackers are planning on major
revolutionary strides in worm functionality. This session discusses the
new breed of worms we'll face in the next two to five years, as well as
tips for preparing for the onslaught. We'll detail super worm features
including hyper propagation, multi-platform support, and
poly/metamorphic code.

A special presentation will be made by Chad Harrington of McAfee:
Preventing Worms from Taking Down Your Servers. Join us to learn how
to:

* Proactively prevent known and unknown malicious attacks such as worms
and buffer overflow exploits

* Safeguard your critical resources, files and operating systems

* Stop attacks using a combination of signatures and behavior rules

We look forward to hosting you this Wednesday, June 4 at 1pm EDT (1700
UTC) http://www.sans.org/webcasts/060403.php
