Malware evolves quickly for one important reason: Blackhats share! Our
only chance to successfully defend our networks is to out-share them.
The SANS Internet Storm Center's main mission is to facilitate
information sharing. SANSFIRE offers a unique opportunity to share and
discuss your favorite trick with your peers. The "Show & Tell" sessions
will feature brief presentations by SANSFIRE participants and allow for
ample time to discuss the presented ideas. Each Show & Tell session will
feature a different theme:

1. Session: Firewalls
Tips and tricks to get the most out of your firewall and confuse
attackers enough to give up right after the first nmap scan.
2. Session: Intrusion Detection
They made it past the firewall? This session will allow you to show
off kewl IDS signature you are using to figure out what happened.
3. Session: System Hardening
Exploits are typically available before you are able to patch. A
hardened system is one way to protect yourself against the next
0-day. Tell others what special trick you use to protect your system.

** SANSFIRE 2005 Special Offering ***
The first fifty registrants to SEC503, SEC505, or SEC508 will be
eligible to attend a dry run of a brand new, hands-on, pragmatic
incident response short course First Responder - Win32 free!

This offer only applies to students enrolled in SEC503, SEC505, and
SEC508 as an introduction to the in-depth training offered in SEC504.
Because SEC504 students are attending the Hacker Techniques, Exploits,
and Incident Handling course, this course will receive the most
effective feedback from students not already focused on incident
handling.

This offer is extended to students with the expectation that you will
put extra effort into constructive advice on your evaluation sheets to
help us fully tune the course. This means you get all of the same great
material and training for free and will be able to help further
structure this course. Seating is limited and to reserve your seat,
email llambertsans.org with your paid registration invoice number. Only
the first fifty paid responses will be accepted; if you wish to attend,
please act quickly!

Be sure to check our SANS Store online catalog before you come for
merchandise that will make the conference a special SANS experience.
