The SANS Institute is pleased to offer you an opportunity to earn
the GIAC Security Expert (GSE) certification, the highest level of
Information Security certification and a recognized requirement of
DoD 8570. Additionally, we announce the inaugural offering of two
brand new GIAC Platinum certifications, GIAC Security Malware (GSM) and
GIAC Security Compliance (GSC). We invite every qualified candidate
to participate in the two day GSE, GSM or GSC certification exam at
SANS Network Security 2006 in Las Vegas, Nevada on October 6-7, 2006.
To qualify to attempt the GIAC Security Expert (GSE), GIAC Security
Expert (GSM) or GIAC Security Compliance (GSC) exam, you must
hold specific GIAC certifications with GIAC Gold in at least two.
In addition, you must pass a proctored entrance exam with an average
score of 80.
GSE requires: GCIA, GCIH and GSEC proctored entrance exams
GSM requires: GCIH, GCFA and a GREM proctored entrance exam
GSC requires: GSNA, GPCI, GSPA and G7799 proctored entrance exams
The Platinum certification exams consist of 2 full days of testing
onsite. Because you are a candidate and you will miss two days
training to sit for the exam, you are eligible to receive any six
day training course of your choice for half price at Network Security
2006 Las Vegas!
The entire testing process varies from between 19 to 23 hours based on
the certification, consisting of a mixture of written exams, research,
hands on exams, group work and an oral presentation.
The test schedules and additional information are available at:
GSE, http://www.giac.org/certifications/gse.php
GSM, http://www.giac.org/certifications/gsm.php
GSC, http://www.giac.org/certifications/gsc.php
The GSE, GSM or GSC must be recertified by exam only every four
years. As long as you keep your Platinum Certification up to date, all
your current GIAC Gold and Silver certifications will be automatically
recertified.
Only 15 candidates who meet the above requirements will be accepted
to attempt the Platinum Level exams; please act quickly and register
today. To register as a candidate, please visit http://www.sans.org/gsx
You can email gse
sans.org, gsm
sans.org or gsc
sans.org if you have
any questions concerning to provide your qualifications and arrange
the prerequisite proctored exam requirement. The fee to register
for the examinations is $500 and the deadline is September 15, 2006.
Good luck and hope to see you in Las Vegas!
