In today's business environment, more types of access are being
provisioned into networks. Traditional VPN technology, as well as
Web-based access and internal user access, has created a number of
different ingress/egress points that need to be secured. With branch
office and remote location connections, bandwidth and availability can
be impacted, as can the overall ability to secure the environment. In
this webcast, we'll discuss the current technologies used for remote
access and remote user security, as well as newer advancements in
security gateway technology.
Dave Shackleford, Senior Security Architect: Dave Shackleford is the
Manager of Solution Engineering for Vigilar in Atlanta, providing
information security consulting services to business and government
clients. Dave has been involved in security for close to 10 years,
holding a number of technical and managerial positions. Dave is also
the co-author of "Hands-On Information Security" from Thomson Course
Technology.
Chris King is director of product marketing with Blue Coat
Systems. Prior to joining Blue Coat in June of 2004, Mr. King spent
over 8 years as an information technology analyst for META Group. An
internationally recognized expert on information security, Mr. King
has consulted with hundreds of large IT organizations, spoken before
a variety of audiences, and is often quoted in trade and business
press. Before META Group, Mr. King managed an international network
for Securities Registration Depository, and was employed by Ernst &
Young. Mr. King holds a B.A. from George Mason University.
