DESCRIPTION:
A vulnerability has been reported in Yahoo! Messenger, which can be
exploited by malicious people to compromise a vulnerable system.

The vulnerability is caused due to a boundary error in the ActiveX
component "yauto.dll" in the "Open()" function. This can be exploited
to cause a buffer overflow by supplying an overly long argument to
the vulnerable function via a malicious web page.

Successful exploitation may allow a malicious web site to execute
arbitrary code on a user's system.

The vulnerability has been reported in versions 5.6.0.1347 and prior.

SOLUTION:
Remove the vulnerable ActiveX component.

Secunia furthermore recommends that running of ActiveX controls and
Active Scripting support are disabled and only allowed on a site per
site basis.
