DESCRIPTION:
JeFFOsZ has discovered a vulnerability in 1st Class Mail Server,
which can be exploited by malicious people to compromise a vulnerable
system.
The vulnerability is caused due to a boundary error in "mailsrv.dll"
within the "APOP" argument handling. This can be exploited to cause a
buffer overflow by passing an overly long (about 626 bytes) digest
parameter to the "APOP" command.
The vulnerability has been confirmed in version 4.0.
SOLUTION:
Restrict access to the POP3 service (port 110/TCP).
Use another product.
