DESCRIPTION:
c0ntex has reported a vulnerability in MPlayer, which can be
exploited by malicious people to compromise a user's system.

The vulnerability is caused due to a boundary error within the
"TranslateFilename()" function. This can be exploited to cause a
buffer overflow via e.g. a specially crafted m3u file.

Successful exploitation requires that MPlayer has been compiled with
GUI support and a user can be tricked into connecting to a malicious
service.

The vulnerability reportedly affects version 1.0pre4 and prior.

SOLUTION:
Compile MPlayer without GUI support.
