DESCRIPTION:
securma massine has reported a vulnerability in Microsoft SQL Server,
which can be exploited by malicious people to cause a DoS (Denial of
Service).
The vulnerability is caused due to an error when processing incoming
requests and can be exploited via a specially crafted request
containing 700,000 bytes of data.
Successful exploitation crashes the service.
The vulnerability has been reported in version 7.0 up to and
including Service Pack 3.
SOLUTION:
Restrict access to the database services.
