DESCRIPTION:
Sun has issued an updated for gzip. This fixes a vulnerability, which
can be exploited by malicious, local users to access sensitive
information.

The vulnerability is caused due to an error in the "-force" or "-f"
command line option in gzip, which incorrectly changes the permission
mode for files that are hard linked to the target files.

Successful exploitation potentially makes it possible for other users
to read or modify files belonging to the user running gzip.

SOLUTION:
Apply patches.
