DESCRIPTION:
Gentoo has issued an update for ncompress. This fixes an old
vulnerability, which potentially can be exploited by malicious people
to compromise a vulnerable system.

The vulnerability is caused due to boundary errors within the
handling of command line options in "compress" and "uncompress". This
can be exploited to cause a buffer overflow by supplying e.g. a
specially crafted, overly long filename.

Successful exploitation can lead to execution of arbitrary code in
context of the process using the ncompress utility.

SOLUTION:
Update to "app-arch/ncompress-4.2.4-r1" or later.
