DESCRIPTION:
A vulnerability has been reported in FreeBSD, which can be exploited
by malicious, local users to gain knowledge of sensitive information
or cause a DoS (Denial of Service).
The vulnerability is caused due to an error in
"/proc/curproc/cmdline" of the procfs file system and
"/proc/self/cmdline" of the linprocfs file system when reading an
argument vector from a process address space. This can be exploited
to disclose parts of kernel memory or crash a vulnerable system.
Successful exploitation requires that the procfs or linprocfs file
system is mounted.
NOTE: "/proc/self/cmdline" is not implemented in FreeBSD 4.x.
