TITLE:
asp2php Two Buffer Overflow Vulnerabilities

SECUNIA ADVISORY ID:
SA13526

VERIFY ADVISORY:
http://secunia.com/advisories/13526/

CRITICAL:
Moderately critical

IMPACT:
System access

WHERE:
From remote

SOFTWARE:
asp2php 0.x
http://secunia.com/product/4402/

DESCRIPTION:
Qiao Zhang has reported two vulnerabilities in asp2php, allowing
malicious people to compromise a vulnerable system.

The vulnerability is caused due to two boundary errors in the
"preparse()" function, which is used when converting asp files into
php. This can be exploited to cause a buffer overflow via a specially
crafted asp file.

Successful exploitation allows execution of arbitrary code, but
requires that a user is tricked into converting a malicious asp
file.

The vulnerability has been reported in version 0.76.23. Prior
versions may also be affected.

SOLUTION:
Do not open asp files from untrusted sources.

Use another product.
