DESCRIPTION:
Luigi Auriemma has reported a vulnerability in Painkiller, which
potentially can be exploited by malicious people to compromise a
vulnerable system.

The vulnerability is caused due to a boundary error in the handling
of Gamespy CD-key hashes. This can be exploited to cause a buffer
overflow by supplying a specially crafted overly long hash to a
vulnerable server (more than 100 bytes).

Successful exploitation may lead to execution of arbitrary code.

The vulnerability has been reported in version 1.35 and prior.

SOLUTION:
Update to version 1.61.
