DESCRIPTION:
CoKi has reported a vulnerability in ngIRCd, which can be exploited
by malicious users to compromise a vulnerable system.

The vulnerability is caused due to a format string error within the
"Log_Resolver()" function. This can be exploited to execute arbitrary
code by returning a specially crafted string containing format
specifiers to an IDENT request.

Successful exploitation requires enabled IDENT support, logging to
syslog, and debugging is enabled.

The vulnerability has been reported in versions 0.8.2 and prior.

SOLUTION:
Debugging should never be enabled on production systems.
