TITLE:
MercuryBoard Multiple Vulnerabilities

SECUNIA ADVISORY ID:
SA13870

VERIFY ADVISORY:
http://secunia.com/advisories/13870/

CRITICAL:
Less critical

IMPACT:
Cross Site Scripting, Manipulation of data

WHERE:
From remote

SOFTWARE:
MercuryBoard 1.x
http://secunia.com/product/4560/

DESCRIPTION:
Alberto Trivero has reported some vulnerabilities in MercuryBoard,
which can be exploited by malicious people to conduct cross-site
scripting attacks and by malicious users to conduct SQL injection
attacks.

1) Input passed to the "a", "l", "s", "t", "to" and "re" parameters
in "index.php" isn't properly sanitised before being returned to the
user. This can be exploited to execute arbitrary HTML and script code
in a user's browser session in context of a vulnerable site.

It is also possible to disclose the full path to certain scripts by
accessing them directly or by causing a division by zero error via
the "n" parameter.

The vulnerability has been reported in version 1.1.1. Prior versions
may also be affected.

2) Input passed to the "t" parameter in "index.php" isn't properly
sanitised before being used in a SQL query. This can be exploited to
manipulate SQL queries by injecting arbitrary SQL code.

Successful exploitation requires forum administrative privileges.

The vulnerability has been reported in version 1.1.0. Other versions
may also be affected.

SOLUTION:
Update to version 1.1.2.
