DESCRIPTION:
Eric Romang has reported a vulnerability in ekg, which can be
exploited by malicious, local users to perform certain actions on a
vulnerable system with escalated privileges.

The vulnerability is caused due to temporary files being created in
"/tmp" insecurely by "contrib/scripts/linki.py". This can be
exploited via symlink attacks to create or overwrite arbitrary files,
and potentially execute arbitrary commands with the privileges of the
user running the affected script.

The vulnerability has been reported in all versions released prior to
5 June 2005, 22:03. Other versions may also be affected.

SOLUTION:
Grant only trusted users access to affected systems.
