CRITICAL:
Not critical
IMPACT:
Manipulation of data, Exposure of sensitive information
WHERE:

SOFTWARE:
IBM Access Connections 3.x
http://secunia.com/product/5446/
DESCRIPTION:
Sylvain Roger has reported a weakness in IBM Access Connections,
which can be exploited by malicious, local users to gain knowledge of
certain information or manipulate it.
The weakness is caused due to inappropriate permissions on the
"\BaseNamedObjects\QCONDB" shared section, which is used by the
QCWICON.EXE and QCTRAY.EXE processes. This can be exploited by
non-privileged users to disclose or modify various information (e.g.
connection profiles, wireless SSID, obfuscated WEP key).
The weakness has been reported in version 3.3. Other versions may
also be affected.
SOLUTION:
Grant only trusted users access to affected systems.
PROVIDED AND/OR DISCOVERED BY:
Sylvain Roger
