TITLE:
Naxtor e-directory Cross-Site Scripting and SQL Injection

SECUNIA ADVISORY ID:
SA16314

VERIFY ADVISORY:
http://secunia.com/advisories/16314/

CRITICAL:
Highly critical

IMPACT:
Security Bypass, Cross Site Scripting, Manipulation of data, System
access

WHERE:
From remote

SOFTWARE:
Naxtor e-directory 1.x
http://secunia.com/product/5477/

DESCRIPTION:
basher13 has reported some vulnerabilities in Naxtor e-directory,
which can be exploited by malicious people to conduct cross-site
scripting and SQL injection attacks and potentially compromise a
vulnerable system.

1) Input passed to the password field in the administration login
isn't properly sanitised before being used in a SQL query. This can
be exploited to manipulate SQL queries by injecting arbitrary SQL
code.

This can further be exploited to bypass the authentication process
and access the administration section where arbitrary files can be
uploaded.

Successful exploitation may allow execution of arbitrary commands on
a vulnerable system.

2) Input passed to the "message" parameter in "message.asp" isn't
properly sanitised before being returned to the user. This can be
exploited to execute arbitrary HTML and script code in a user's
browser session in context of an affected site.

The vulnerabilities have been reported in version 1.0. Other versions
may also be affected.

SOLUTION:
Edit the source code to ensure that input is properly sanitised.
