TITLE:
ECW-Shop SQL Injection and Cross-Site Scripting Vulnerabilities

SECUNIA ADVISORY ID:
SA16459

VERIFY ADVISORY:
http://secunia.com/advisories/16459/

CRITICAL:
Moderately critical

IMPACT:
Cross Site Scripting, Manipulation of data

WHERE:
From remote

SOFTWARE:
ECW-Shop 6.x
http://secunia.com/product/5552/

DESCRIPTION:
John Cobb has discovered some vulnerabilities in ECW-Shop, which can
be exploited by malicious people to conduct cross-site scripting and
SQL injection attacks.

1) Input passed to the "max" and "ctg" parameters isn't properly
sanitised before being returned to users. This can be exploited to
execute arbitrary HTML and script code in a user's browser session in
context of a vulnerable site.

Examples:
http://[host]/index.php?c=srch&ctg=[code]
http://[host]/index.php?c=srch&max=[code]

2) Input passed to the "min" and "max" parameters isn't properly
sanitised before being used in a SQL query. This can be exploited to
manipulate SQL queries by injecting arbitrary SQL code.

It is also possible to add a negative quantity of items to the
shopping cart, which causes the total price to become negative.

The vulnerabilities have been confirmed in version 6.02. Other
versions may also be affected.

SOLUTION:
Edit the source code to ensure that input is properly sanitised.
