TITLE:
GuppY Multiple Vulnerabilities

SECUNIA ADVISORY ID:
SA16707

VERIFY ADVISORY:
http://secunia.com/advisories/16707/

CRITICAL:
Highly critical

IMPACT:
Cross Site Scripting, System access

WHERE:
From remote

SOFTWARE:
GuppY 4.x
http://secunia.com/product/5665/

DESCRIPTION:
Romano_45 has reported some vulnerabilities in GuppY, which can be
exploited by malicious people to conduct cross-site scripting and
script insertion attacks, and compromise a vulnerable system.

1) Input passed to the "pg" parameter in "printfaq.php" isn't
properly sanitised before being returned to the user. This can be
exploited to execute arbitrary HTML and script code in a user's
browser session in context of an affected site.

2) Input passed to the " Referer" and "User-Agent" HTTP headers isn't
properly sanitised before being used. This can be exploited to inject
arbitrary HTML and script code, which will be executed in a user's
browser session in context of an affected site when the malicious
user data is viewed via "error.php".

This can also be exploited to inject and execute arbitrary PHP code,
but requires that "magic_quotes_gpc" has been disabled.

The vulnerabilities have been reported in version 4.5.3a. Prior
versions may also be affected.

SOLUTION:
Update to version 4.5.4.
