CRITICAL:
Less critical
IMPACT:
Security Bypass
WHERE:
Local system
SOFTWARE:
SecureOL VE2 1.x
http://secunia.com/product/5676/
DESCRIPTION:
Joe Stewart has reported a vulnerability in VE2, which can be
exploited by certain malicious processes to bypass security features
provided by the product.
VE2 segregates running processes into two separate virtual
environments, the Secured and the Public. This protects trusted
processes from malicious code. However, it is possible for a
malicious process running in the Windows legacy 16-bit execution
support environment to access memory of processes in the Secured
Environment, by accessing physical memory from the Public Environment
via "\\PhysicalMemory".
The vulnerability has been reported in version 1.05.1008. Prior
versions may also be affected.
SOLUTION:
Update to version 1.05.1009.
