VERIFY ADVISORY:
http://secunia.com/advisories/17459/

CRITICAL:
Less critical

IMPACT:
Exposure of sensitive information

WHERE:
From remote

SOFTWARE:
Asterisk 1.x
http://secunia.com/product/2155/

DESCRIPTION:
Assurance.com.au has reported a vulnerability in Asterisk, which can
be exploited by malicious users to disclose sensitive information.

Input passed to the "folder" parameter in "vmail.cgi" isn't properly
sanitised before being used to open files. This can be exploited to
disclose the content of arbitrary ".wav" files via directory
traversal attacks (e.g. other users' voicemail messages).

Successful exploitation requires that the user is authenticated.

The vulnerability has been reported in versions 1.0.9 and
1.2.0-beta1, and prior.

SOLUTION:
The vulnerability has reportedly been fixed in the CVS repository.
