From: Secunia Security Advisories (sec-advsecunia.com)
Date: Wed Nov 30 2005 - 04:02:12 CST

TITLE:
SocketKB SQL Injection and Local File Inclusion Vulnerabilities

SECUNIA ADVISORY ID:
SA17807

VERIFY ADVISORY:
http://secunia.com/advisories/17807/

CRITICAL:
Moderately critical

IMPACT:
Manipulation of data, Exposure of sensitive information

WHERE:
From remote

SOFTWARE:
SocketKB 1.x
http://secunia.com/product/6280/

DESCRIPTION:
r0t has reported some vulnerabilities in SocketKB, which can be
exploited by malicious people to conduct SQL injection attacks and
disclose sensitive information.

1) Input passed to the "node" and "art_id" parameters isn't properly
sanitised before being used in a SQL query. This can be exploited to
manipulate SQL queries by injecting arbitrary SQL code.

2) Input passed to the "__f" parameter isn't properly verified,
before it is used to include files. This can be exploited to include
arbitrary files from local resources.

Successful exploitation requires that "magic_quotes_gpc" is
disabled.

The vulnerabilities have been reported in version 1.1.0 and prior.
Other versions may also be affected.

SOLUTION:
Edit the source code to ensure that input is properly sanitised and
verified.
