TITLE:
Andy's PHP Knowledgebase Cross-Site Scripting and Script Insertion

SECUNIA ADVISORY ID:
SA19554

VERIFY ADVISORY:
http://secunia.com/advisories/19554/

CRITICAL:
Moderately critical

IMPACT:
Cross Site Scripting

WHERE:
From remote

SOFTWARE:
Andy's PHP Knowledgebase 0.x
http://secunia.com/product/9225/

DESCRIPTION:
Brian has discovered some vulnerabilities in Andy's PHP
Knowledgebase, which can be exploited by malicious people to conduct
cross-site scripting and script insertion attacks.

1) Input passed to the "keyword_list" parameter in "abk.php" isn't
properly sanitised before being returned to the user. This can be
exploited to execute arbitrary HTML and script code in a user's
browser session in context of an affected site.

2) Input passed to various parameters in "submit_article.php" and
"submit_question.php" isn't properly sanitised before being used.
This can be exploited to inject arbitrary HTML and script code, which
will be executed in a user's browser session in context of an affected
site when the malicious user data is viewed.

The vulnerabilities have been confirmed in version 0.57. Other
versions may also be affected.

SOLUTION:
Edit the source code to ensure that input is properly sanitised.
