SECUNIA ADVISORY ID:

VERIFY ADVISORY:

CRITICAL:
Moderately critical

IMPACT:
Cross Site Scripting

WHERE:
From remote

SOFTWARE:
i.List 1.x
http://secunia.com/product/10416/

DESCRIPTION:
David 'Aesthetico' Vieira-Kurz has discovered some vulnerabilities in
i.List, which can be exploited by malicious people to conduct
cross-site scripting and script insertion attacks.

1) Input passed to the "searchword" parameter in search.php and the
"banurl" parameter in add.php is not properly sanitised before being
returned to the user. This can be exploited to execute arbitrary HTML
and script code in a user's browser session in context of an affected
site.

2) Input passed to the "siteurl" parameter in add.php is not properly
sanitised before being used. This can be exploited to insert arbitrary
HTML and script code, which will be executed in a admin's browser
session in context of an affected site when malicious data is
viewed.

The vulnerabilities have been confirmed in version 1.5 beta. Other
versions may also be affected.

SOLUTION:
Edit the source code to ensure that input is properly sanitised.
