TITLE:

SECUNIA ADVISORY ID:
SA20932

VERIFY ADVISORY:
http://secunia.com/advisories/20932/

CRITICAL:
Moderately critical

IMPACT:
Cross Site Scripting

WHERE:
From remote

SOFTWARE:
mAds 1.x
http://secunia.com/product/10775/

DESCRIPTION:
Luny has reported two vulnerabilities in mAds, which can be exploited
by malicious people to conduct cross-site scripting and script
insertion attacks.

1) Input passed via the URL is not properly sanitised before being
returned to the user. This can be exploited to execute arbitrary HTML
and script code in a user's browser session in context of an affected
site.

Example:
http://[host]/" onmouseover=[code] ".html

2) An input validation error exists in the search functionality due
to search results not being properly sanitised before being displayed
to users. This can be exploited to execute arbitrary HTML and script
code in a user's browser session via a search result from a malicious
web site.

The vulnerabilities have been reported in version 1.0. Other versions
may also be affected.

SOLUTION:
Edit the source code to ensure that input is properly sanitised.
