TITLE:
Horde Cross-Site Scripting Vulnerabilities
SECUNIA ADVISORY ID:
SA20954
VERIFY ADVISORY:
http://secunia.com/advisories/20954/
CRITICAL:
Less critical
IMPACT:
Cross Site Scripting
WHERE:
From remote
SOFTWARE:
Horde Application Framework 3.x
http://secunia.com/product/4524/
DESCRIPTION:
Moritz Naumann has reported some vulnerabilities in Horde, which be
exploited by malicious people to conduct cross-site scripting
attacks.
Input passed to the "url" parameter in go.php, the "module" parameter
in help/, and the "name" parameter in problem.php isn't properly
sanitised before being returned to the user. This can be exploited to
execute arbitrary HTML and script code in a user's browser session in
context of an affected site.
Examples:
http://[host]/services/go.php?url=http://./;URL=javascript:[code]
http://[host]/services/help/?show=about&module=%3Cmeta%20http-equiv=%22refresh%22%20content=%220;URL=javascript:[code]
http://services/problem.php?name=[code]
Successful exploitation of the go.php script requires that the user
is using the Microsoft Internet Explorer 6 browser.
The vulnerabilities have been reported in versions 3.0.0 through
3.0.10, and 3.1.0 through 3.1.1. Prior versions may also be affected.
SOLUTION:
Update to version 3.0.11 or 3.1.2:
http://ftp.horde.org/pub/horde/horde-3.0.11.tar.gz
http://ftp.horde.org/pub/horde/horde-3.1.2.tar.gz
