DESCRIPTION:
Frank Benkstein has reported a vulnerability in SILC Server, which
can be exploited by malicious people to cause a DoS (Denial of
Service).

The vulnerability is caused due to a NULL-pointer dereference error
within apps/silcd/command.c. This can be exploited to crash the
service by connecting to the server, joining or creating a channel,
and then specifying invalid hmac or cipher values.

The vulnerability is reported in version 1.02. Prior versions may
also be affected.

SOLUTION:
Update to version 1.03.
