DESCRIPTION:
A vulnerability has been reported in Symantec Veritas Storage
Foundation, which can be exploited by malicious people to bypass
certain security restrictions.

The vulnerability is caused due to an error within the Scheduler
Service (VxSchedService.exe) server and can be exploited to bypass
the built-in authentication in the management console.

Successful exploitation allows an attacker to e.g. add arbitrary
commands to the registry, which could be executed during scheduled
runs.

The vulnerability affects Symantec Veritas Storage Foundation for
Windows version 5.0.
