DESCRIPTION:
A security issue has been reported in the Linux Kernel, which can be
exploited by malicious, local users to cause a DoS (Denial of
Service).

The security issue is caused due to a NULL pointer dereference error
in the "compat_sys_mount()" function in fs/compat.c, which can be
exploited to crash a vulnerable system by mounting an smbfs file
system in compatibility mode.

SOLUTION:
Update to version 2.6.21.1 or later.
