DESCRIPTION:
A vulnerability has been reported in Tk, which can potentially be
exploited by malicious people to compromise an application using the
library.

The vulnerability is caused due to a boundary error within the
"ReadImage()" function in generic/tkImgGIF.c. This can be exploited
to cause a buffer overflow via interlaced GIF files containing
multiple smaller frames following the first frame.

Successful exploitation may allow execution of arbitrary code.

The vulnerability is reported in versions prior to 8.4.16.

SOLUTION:
Update to version 8.4.16.
