DESCRIPTION:
A vulnerability has been reported in SmbFTPD, which potentially can
be exploited by malicious users to compromise a vulnerable system.

The vulnerability is caused due to a format string error within the
"SMBDirList()" function in dirlist.c. This can potentially be
exploited to execute arbitrary code via a specially crafted
filename.

Successful exploitation may require that the attacker can create
specially crafted filenames.

The vulnerability is reported in version 0.96. Prior versions may
also be affected.

SOLUTION:
Update to version 0.97.
