DESCRIPTION:
Parvez Anwar has discovered a vulnerability in Altnet Download
Manager, which can be exploited by malicious people to compromise a
user's system.

The vulnerability is caused due to a boundary error within the
"Install()" method in the ADM4 ActiveX control (adm4.dll). This can
be exploited to cause a stack-based buffer overflow via an overly
long string passed as argument to the affected method when a user
e.g. visits a malicious website.

Successful exploitation allows execution of arbitrary code.

The vulnerability is confirmed in adm4.dll version 4.0.0.6. Other
versions may also be affected.

NOTE: The application is included in file-sharing applications Kazaa
and Grokster.

SOLUTION:
Set the kill-bit for the affected ActiveX control.
