Highly critical

SOFTWARE:
Kingsoft Antivirus Online Update Module 2007.x
http://secunia.com/product/17918/

DESCRIPTION:
void has discovered a vulnerability in Kingsoft Antivirus Online
Update Module, which can be exploited by malicious people to
compromise a user's system.

The vulnerability is caused due to a boundary error in the
KUpdateObj2 Class ActiveX control (UpdateOcx2.dll) when processing
arguments passed to the "SetUninstallName()" method. This can be
exploited to cause a heap-based buffer overflow by passing an overly
long argument to the affected method.

Successful exploitation allows execution of arbitrary code.

The vulnerability is confirmed in UpdateOcx2.dll version
2007.12.29.29. Other versions may also be affected.

SOLUTION:
Set the kill-bit for the affected ActiveX control.
