TITLE:
Sava CMS Cross-Site Scripting and SQL Injection

SECUNIA ADVISORY ID:
SA30367

VERIFY ADVISORY:
http://secunia.com/advisories/30367/

CRITICAL:
Moderately critical

IMPACT:
Manipulation of data, Cross Site Scripting

WHERE:
From remote

SOFTWARE:
Sava CMS 5.x
http://secunia.com/product/18769/

DESCRIPTION:
Russ McRee has reported some vulnerabilities in Sava CMS, which can
be exploited by malicious people to conduct SQL injection and
cross-site scripting attacks.

1) Input passed to the "LinkServID" parameter in index.cfm is not
properly sanitised before being used in SQL queries. This can be
exploited to manipulate SQL queries by injecting arbitrary SQL code.

2) Input passed to the "keywords" parameter in index.cfm, when
"display" is set to "search", is not properly sanitised before being
returned to the user. This can be exploited to execute arbitrary HTML
and script code in a user's browser session in context of an affected
site.

The vulnerabilities are reported in versions prior to 5.0.122.

SOLUTION:
Update to version 5.0.122 or later.
