CRITICAL:
Highly critical

IMPACT:
System access

From remote

SOFTWARE:
muvee autoProducer 6.x
http://secunia.com/product/19062/

DESCRIPTION:
Nine:Situations:Group::Trotzkista has discovered a vulnerability in
muvee autoProducer, which can be exploited by malicious people to
compromise a user's system.

The vulnerability is caused due to a boundary error within the
DXTTextOutEffect ActiveX control (TextOut.dll/mvtextout.dll) when
handling the "FontSetting" property. This can be exploited to cause a
buffer overflow by assigning an overly long string to the affected
property.

Successful exploitation allows execution of arbitrary code.

The vulnerability is confirmed in version 6.1 and also reported in
version 6.0. Other versions may also be affected.

SOLUTION:
Set the kill-bit for the affected ActiveX control.
