DESCRIPTION:
Some vulnerabilities have been reported in IBM Rational ClearQuest,
which can be exploited by malicious, local users to disclose
sensitive information and by malicious people to disclose sensitive
information or conduct conduct cross-site scripting attacks.
1) Certain unspecified input is not properly sanitised before being
returned to the user. This can be exploited to execute arbitrary HTML
and script code in a user's browser session in context of an affected
site.
2) An error when processing SQL connections can be exploited to
disclose sensitive information.
3) Certain sensitive information is kept in password edit boxes,
which can be exploited to disclose e.g. user and database passwords.
4) Certain sensitive information is stored unencrypted when editing a
connection profile in the maintenance tool. This can be exploited to
obtain e.g. the database password by accessing in-memory objects.
SOLUTION:
Update to version 7.1.
Vulnerabilities #1 and #3 are also fixed in versions 7.0.0.4 and
7.0.1.3.
