Soulseek Search Message Buffer Overflow Vulnerability

DESCRIPTION:
Laurent Gaffié has reported a vulnerability in Soulseek, which can be
exploited by malicious people to potentially compromise a user's
system.

The vulnerability is caused due to a boundary error in the processing
of Soulseek search messages. This can be exploited to cause a
stack-based buffer overflow by sending a search query containing an
overly long parameter.

Successful exploitation may allow execution of arbitrary code.

The vulnerability is reported in versions 157 NS and 156. Other
versions may also be affected.

SOLUTION:
Use another product.
