TITLE:
FreeBSD "SIOCSIFINFO_IN6" IOCTL Security Issue

SECUNIA ADVISORY ID:
SA35410

VERIFY ADVISORY:
http://secunia.com/advisories/35410/

DESCRIPTION:
A security issue has been reported in FreeBSD, which can be exploited
by malicious, local users to bypass certain security restrictions.

The security issue is caused due to missing permission checks for the
"SIOCSIFINFO_IN6" IOCTL. This can be exploited to change certain IPv6
interface settings (e.g. MTU) or disable an IPv6 interface completely
by sending specially crafted "SIOCSIFINFO_IN6" IOCTLs.

Note: IPv4 functionality is reportedly not affected.

SOLUTION:
Update FreeBSD or apply patches.
