EpicVJ Playlist Processing Buffer Overflow Vulnerability

DESCRIPTION:
hack4love has discovered a vulnerability in EpicVJ, which can be
exploited by malicious people to compromise a user's system.

The vulnerability is caused due to a boundary error in the processing
of playlist files. This can be exploited to cause a stack-based buffer
overflow by tricking a user into opening e.g. an ".m3u" file having an
overly long entry.

Successful exploitation may allow execution of arbitrary code.

The vulnerability is confirmed in trial version 1.3.1.2. Other
versions may also be affected.

SOLUTION:
Do not open untrusted playlists.
