TITLE:
Serveez "If-Modified-Since" Header Buffer Overflow Vulnerability

SECUNIA ADVISORY ID:
SA36177

VERIFY ADVISORY:
http://secunia.com/advisories/36177/

DESCRIPTION:
lvac lvac has discovered a vulnerability in Serveez, which can be
exploited by malicious people to compromise a vulnerable system.

The vulnerability is caused due to a boundary error within the
"http_parse_date()" function in src/http_server/http-core.c when
parsing HTTP requests. This can be exploited to cause a stack-based
buffer overflow via an HTTP request containing a specially crafted
"If-Modified-Since" header.

Successful exploitation allows execution of arbitrary code.

The vulnerability is confirmed in version 0.1.7. Other versions may
also be affected.

SOLUTION:
Restrict network access to the application.
